Guidelines

We accept all our submissions year-round through our Submittable. We publish an online issue four times a year. These issues include fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art, as well as contest winners. Accepted works will be published in an online issue of Silver Rose. Simultaneous submissions are perfectly fine. We are also happy to review previously published work. All artists retain full rights to their work. You can read a sample issue here.

Fiction and Nonfiction

  • Silver Rose a new magazine is looking for literary fiction with themes of love, heartbreak, desire, and longing. We also accept works within the genres of romance and paranormal romance, as well as horror/sci-fi/fantasy/historical fiction with romantic elements. (The Haunting of Bly Manor and Reign, for example)

  • We also accept nonfiction essays on the same topics.

  • We accept works that depict all sexualities and are very interested in the works of underrepresented authors.

  • Submissions should be between 100 and 8,000 words.

  • We are looking for short stories, novel excerpts, and nonfiction.

  • Please no PDF files.

Poetry

  • We want emotive, imagistic poetry.

  • Silver Rose allows authors to submit one to five poems at a time.

  • Please submit all your poems on one document.

  • Please no PDF files.

Visual Art

  • Please send us one to five pieces of art at a time. We are fans of all mediums!

  • Any size or resolution that you see fit is fine. If we need something different, we will message you.

  • We are open to all art, but especially enjoy pieces depicting themes of love, attraction, heartbreak and desire, as well as highly emotive works.
